Bronco Week in Monterey

Lifestyle

Monterey Car Week is a celebration of automotive excellence. For an unforgettable week in August, every corner of this beautiful central California coastal community plays host to elite vehicles both vintage and new. The 2022 edition was especially noteworthy, as the theme was celebrating 100 years of the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. Monterey is also a stage for Gateway Bronco to launch its latest and greatest products every year.

Gateway Bronco’s displays appeared at a variety of locations and events, starting with Motorlux by Hagerty at the Monterey Jet Center, then with the elite vehicles at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering at The Quail Lodge and Golf Club. Current and potential customers alike sat down with Seth at The Quail to review their dream designs on the new 3D Configurator.

The Shelby American Dinner on Saturday night was a highlight. Gateway Bronco also brought First Bronco to Monterey, the original prototype Bronco, allowing attendees to appreciate the distance traveled between that first utilitarian Bronco, and the newest, most technologically advanced and performance-tuned resto-mod Bronco available.

“It is difficult to choose, but I think my favorite moment of Monterey was spending time with Edsel Ford and Aaron Shelby,” Burgett said. “We enjoyed the evening together just a few feet away from First Bronco and the one we unveiled. The night was spent talking about them and Edsel’s experiences with the 1974 Bronco that he owns. To top it off, Peter Brock, designer of the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, sat at our table while awaiting an award from the Carroll Shelby International board as part of the Team Shelby VIP Experience private dinner. It was a memorable night with friends.”

“The weather was perfect. The events ran flawlessly,” Burgett said. “The vehicle exceeded the expectations of our client, who couldn’t have been any happier. The public’s response to the custom build and the first Bronco was outstanding. We can’t wait to re-turn next year.”
