We sketched out a vision of the ultimate getaway with the same mindset and attention to detail that we invest in engineering, designing, and building our vehicles. We aimed for top-rated accommodations, world-class driving opportunities, and time enjoying the great outdoors. Even better, you can do all these things in your personal Gateway Bronco at one of the most scenic places in the world.

Why Big Sur? Besides the obvious beauty of the natural setting, Gateway Bronco will be at Monterey Car Week for major announcements. We’ll unveil a ground-breaking, game-changing new model at The Quail Lodge & Golf Club during the famed Monterey celebration of motoring. Inviting some like-minded friends to share in the fun seemed like the natural thing to do.

The fun will begin in earnest once car week is over. The three-day Big Sur Touring Experience will include drives along the famous Highway 1 that hugs the spectacular California coastline, with stops along the way at a private art gallery, an exclusive beach outing, and wine tasting opportunities. Guests will stay at the luxurious Bernardus Lodge & Spa in Carmel Valley. Nestled among the Santa Lucia mountains, the top-rated Bernardus is known for its relaxed elegance and sophisticated luxury.

Good people make for good times, and there will be plenty of opportunities for Bronco-style camaraderie. “Together, we’ll spend quality time with celebrity guests, other owners, myself and the Gateway Bronco team on this journey,” said Gateway Bronco Founder and CEO Seth Burgett. “You will have the opportunity to make friends that will last a lifetime.”

The Big Sur Touring Experience will deliver more than just luxury and scenic beauty. Participants will be the first to get behind the wheel of the vehicle we’ve affectionately nicknamed “Project Pegasus.” “You’ll have an exclusive opportunity to test drive the LUXE-GT just days after it is unveiled at The Quail. After two years of R&D and millions invested, the end result is a safer, more secure, modern driving experience with the original character of the 1970s Ford Bronco,” Burgett said.

Complete details are still under wraps, but we can reveal the new vehicle will feature patent-pending soft-close doors, independent suspension, crush zones front and rear, electric steering, and electronic all-wheel drive. The Big Sur Touring Experience is a turn-key event, with all details handled by Gateway Bronco. “All participants have to do is make their own arrangements to get themselves to Monterey, and we do everything else, including picking them up at the airport,” Burgett said. One of Gateway Bronco’s long-haul rigs will pick up your Bronco at the place of your choosing and deliver it to Monterey, where it will receive an annual service and full detailing. After the event, your Bronco will be delivered back to your home location. Alternatively, you can enjoy the Big Sur Touring Experience behind the wheel of one of Gateway Bronco’s Available Now vehicles.
